Circum Square post railing system at Juniata College

JUNIATA COLLEGE, established in 1876, is a private liberal arts college located in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. Today Juniata has about 1600 students from 42 states and 45 countries. The Baker Refectory Hall Dining Hall underwent major renovations over the five-week winter break, including a brand new layout featuring a staircase and balcony. The dining hall’s new layout is complemented with HDI’s Circum Square railing system manufactured at HDI’s facility just two hours south of Juniata College. The Baker Refectory Dining Hall’s newly installed Circum Square railing system features Sand White low iron glass infill panels appearing color neutral to the edge diminishing the green tint that can be common in standard glass.

Juniata College’s new dining hall unveiled Cinco Cantina, a customizable, new Mexican concept merging authentic cuisine with contemporary technologies. The Baker Refectory Dining Hall contains the college’s most advanced culinary experiences with touch screen kiosks for custom food on-the-go and Clean Plate stations offering students healthy dining choices that are free of food allergens and gluten. For this dining hall space redesign, it was important to create an environment that feels bright, open and spacious. The Circum Square railing system’s Sand White low iron glass panels were a perfect choice for this application as they transmit light and create a feeling of openness and yet provide an element of privacy often desirable in environments such as this.

The Circum Square post railing system is constructed with mechanical threaded connections to ensure an exact, precise and secure fitting. All railings are fully assembled n HDI’s factory and then deconstructed into fully assembled sections to ensure the most efficient installation. Juniata required a fast delivery as their project had a six-week window of opportunity. HDI’s “fast trak” program provided the railing system in a four-week timeframe from approval drawings to material ship. HDI carries a significant inventory of product allowing delivery times to be substantially reduced when projects require shorter lead times.
